Sources and Licences — Groundwork

Last updated:

1. How we use sources

In short: we summarise named public sources in our own words and cite each one. Nobody listed here endorses Groundwork.

Groundwork summarises information from the sources below in its own words and names the source next to each piece of information. Organisations named in this app are listed for information only. They do not endorse Steadwright or Groundwork, and we are not affiliated with, sponsored by or partnered with any of them. We use their names only in plain text, to identify their service. We do not use their logos. Their names and trade marks belong to their owners.

2. Attribution notices

In short: notices that the source owners ask for.

US National Institutes of Health (NIH) bodies

Some information is based on material from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), including its Rethinking Drinking website. This does not imply endorsement by NIAAA, NIH, HHS or the United States Government. NIH logos are not used.

AUDIT-C questions

The short alcohol questions the app may show are based on the AUDIT-C, a three-question version of the World Health Organization's Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT). Reference: Bush K, Kivlahan DR, McDonell MB, Fihn SD, Bradley KA. "The AUDIT Alcohol Consumption Questions (AUDIT-C): an effective brief screening test for problem drinking." Archives of Internal Medicine, 1998. In this app the questions are used for self-reflection only, not as a screening or diagnosis. WHO does not endorse this app.

NHS website — Open Government Licence v3.0

Where this app adapts information from the NHS website (nhs.uk), it contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0 (https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/doc/open-government-licence/version/3/). Adapted text may differ from the original. NHS logos and trademarks are not used, and no NHS endorsement is implied.

3. Sources of the information cards

In short: the sources cited by the app's information and journey cards.

Each card in the app shows the specific page it is based on.

4. Help lines and services named in the app

In short: 22 countries; public sources; listed for information only.

The Help section lists the following organisations and services. Each entry in the app shows its official source and the date we last checked it. Listing does not mean the organisation endorses Groundwork, or that we have any relationship with it.

5. Software components

In short: no third-party code libraries.
